Artistic escapes: A vibrant journey from canvas to craft

Hey! I wanted to share a little about something that started as a casual experiment with paintbrushes soon turned into an adventure filled with colors, creativity and a whole lot of fun. From splashing paint on a canvas to crafting DIY projects and even decorating cakes, I found that art is everywhere.

Art became my unpaid therapist during corona times when the world came to a standstill, and so did many of us.Actually the magic of art as a hobby is you're not doing it for an audience,a grade -- you're doing it because it feels good. All the stress, deadlines and worries seem to melt away while doing it.and the best part is, as you keep at it, you'll start to notice improvements naturally.

One thing that often stops people from doing art is the fear of not being "good" at it.But here's the secret:you don't have to be. It's all about the experience not the outcome.even if your drawing of a tree ends up looking more like a lopsided stick, who cares?also Bob Ross said,"We don't make mistakes, just happy little accidents."👩‍🎨

Another great thing about art or craft is that it fosters personal connection . It's a way to bond over shared interests, exchange tips and get inspired by what others are creating. One of the most rewarding experiences with my art and crafts has been sharing them with others. I remember making handmade gifts, clay keychains for my little cousin and my friends- each piece crafted with love and care.Seeing their happiness made all my efforts worthwhile.Even though some might see cutesy art as childish, for me,it's a way of connecting with my inner child.

(fun thing is I crafted these clay figurines from scratch, mixing and molding the clay myself)

One of my quirks as a hobbyist is that I see potential for art in just about everything around me.Shells, bottles, old boxes, stones, popsicle sticks- you name it. For me nothing is too trivial to be turned into something beautiful. While others might see a discarded box as waste,I see a blank canvas.Growing up,I dreamed of becoming an architect as I spent countless hours constructing buildings and palaces out of cardboard. However,I somehow ended up taking CSE as my major.while it's a very different field from archi,my love for creating and crafting remains an essential part of who I am.

I've experimented with different mediums, but I still haven't dived into digital art yet. It's something I'm excited to explore soon!! Honestly I'm always up for trying something new-because why not? So, here's to more creativity and a whole lot more fun-because the messier it gets, the better the adventure!
